• Obituary: Published in May 1961 in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana. 19 Wood I. Thompson Wood I. Thompson, 73, of Rt. 1, Markleville, died yesterday evening at 8:40 o'clock at St. John's Hospital. He had been ill one year.
Mr. Thompson was born Feb 18, 1888 and was a native of Greenfiield. He was the son of Charles F. and Sophfronia (Coell) Thompson. He lived in the Markelville vicinity for 15 years and was a retired employe of Delco-Remy, where he had worked 39 years. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Noble Street Methodist Church. In 1917 he married the former Rosie Riickert, who survives.
Other survivors include a son, Fred Thompson, Santa Ana, calif., a sister, Mrs. Bertha Brown, Anderson; two brothers, Floyd Thmpson, Anderson and Edward Thompson, Indianapolis; three brothers-in-law, George A., Mack and Bob Riickert, all of Anderson; two grandchildren, Fred and Karen Thompson, Anderson; several nieces and one nephew.
The body was taken to the Harold E. Rozelle Funeral Home. No arrangements were announced.
Wood I. Thompson Funeral services of Wood I. Thompson, 73, RR 1, Markleville, a retired employe of the Delco-Remy Division in Anderson, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Harold E. Rozelle Funeral Home. Mr. Thompson died Wednesday.
The Rev. Wallace W. Deyo, pastor of the Noble Sreet Methodist Church will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are being received at the funeral home.
