Vernon died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at the Rockcastle Hospital. She was born on April 20, 1910 in Harlan County the daughter of the late Charlie and Sarah Tipton Dash. She was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting, cooking, canning, and was a member of the Holiness faith.
Survivors are: one son, Robert B. French (Willie) of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Mrs Laura B. Hayes of Mt. Vernon. Seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin French and second husband, Thomas Taylor; one son, Charles W. French and by one son-in-law, James V. Hayes.
Services were held Sunday, July 3, 2005 at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Owens and Bro. Randall Adams officiating. Burial followed in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
