• Obituary: Published in the Mt. Vernon Signal on 18 September 1908 in Mount Vernon, Rockcastle County, Kentucky. 1148 Mr. W. L. Owens one of the oldest and most honored citizens of the county died at his home near Maretburg, last Friday, morning after an illness of many months. His remains were laid to rest in the Maretburg graveyard Saturday.
